Game Description: America's Army is an innovative PC action game that provides civilians with an inside perspective and a virtual role in today’s high-tech Army. The America’s Army game provides players a virtual portal into the Army, from exploring the development of Soldiers in individual and collective training to their employment in simulated missions in the Global War on Terrorism. The America’s Army games are the only free action games that deliver an authentic and entertaining Army experience by reflecting the training, technology, actions and career advancement of a Soldier within a unique exciting game experience. In the America's Army game, players are bound by Rules of Engagement (ROE) and progress in their virtual Army careers by navigating challenges in teamwork-based, multiplayer, force-on-force operations. In the game, as in the Army, accomplishing missions requires a team effort and adherence to the Seven Core Army Values. Players who demonstrate loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage are rewarded through a scoring system that allows players to complete training in order to unlock additional abilities that enable them to progress in the game. The game is updated regularly to include new features and missions and highlight the new technologies being incorporated into today’s Army.

In June of 2009, the Army launched an all new game, America’s Army 3 (AA3), where Every Detail Counts. AA3 brings players new insight into the Army and Soldiering and allows them to create a more interactive experience with customizable persistent characters and specialized training that unlocks new abilities. The PC game is available for download at www.americasarmy.com or on DVDs at recruiting or Army events. Released by the U.S. Army, the game was conceived and is managed by the Office of Economic & Manpower Analysis (OEMA) at the U.S. Military Academy at West Point. The Assistant Secretary of the Army for Manpower and Reserve Affairs is the proponent for the game, providing strategic direction to the Project. Major commands and field units of the U.S. Army provide subject matter experts to support development of game models and scenarios.
